Paris in a Day

Is it possible to visit the famous Parisian city in one day? The feeling you feel while in Paris cannot be described, so we’re here to tell you how to visit all of Paris’ major sites in just one day! Yes, you read correctly one day! (if you are an early riser that is).

Our journey begins in London, the United Kingdom at 4 am at St Pancras International Station, awaiting the Eurostar. In under 2 hours and 30 mins you will be inspired by the culture, architecture, fashion, food, and much more of Paris. Paying €6 for an all-day ticket to explore such a vibrant city is definitely worth it.

We spent a considerable amount of time at each site, taking in the atmosphere, finding the right angle, and pose to capture the best Paris picture.

This is the order in which we explored the city:

Eiffel Tower

As soon as we stepped off the Eurostar, we immediately opened City Mapper to find out how to get to the Eiffel Tower. Camera and selfie sticks were everywhere and getting picture was difficult, however, there is may areas surrounding the Eiffel Tower that will give you a perfect shot.

Louvre Museum

Unfortunately, we did not get to explore inside as it was Tuesday and museums are closed on a Tuesday. Although, we did get a cute picture outside lol!

Cathedrale Notre-Dame de Paris

Luckily, we went to this beautiful cathedral a few months before it tragically set fire, however it is breath-taking. The overly populated square was filled with even more selfies sticks and LOADS of pigeons. We also treated ourselves to some ice-cream I opted for cookie and cream with caramel, while Jason had pistachio ice-cream with hazelnut.

Arc de Triomphe

Queuing in the middle of a busy road to take a picture was something I never thought we would do! After waiting 10 minutes, we were able to get a picture in front of the middle of Arc de Triomphe.

Champs Elysees

We loved walking down Champ Elysees which displays a mixture of residents, There are many restaurants along Champs Elysees, this is where we decided to have lunch. It wasn’t necessarily a typical Paris cuisine, but you can never go wrong with burger and chips lol.

Sacre Coeur

We arrived at Sacre Coeur as the sun began to set and had the best view of Paris with a pink and purple background. We also chained our names to the fence, so Paris of us!

Of course, there are some other sites that you can see while in Paris such as Musee d’Orsay, Opera National de Paris, Place de la Concorde, and Sainte-Chappelle. However, our tightly packed itinerary could not fit in all this beauty.

At the end of a 9-hour adventure, we returned to the Eurostar station, saddened by the end of our Paris escapade and the thought of going back to the reality of lectures and coursework.

If you take the first Eurostar to Paris and the last back home you will definitely be able to see the splendor of Paris.
