5 Steps to Easily Overcome Stage Fright

People face the stage at least once. You have to give presentations and also after you are an employee. As a student, I also have to stand in front of many people at least once a month. If you don’t have stage fright and feel comfortable speaking to an audience, it would be a great experience to speak in front of others. However, it is known that 40 percent of American adults do have and stressed every time they make a speech. Today, I’m going to tell you 4 easy ways to overcome stage fright.

Practice

When you go on stage, your mind may wander and forget everything you prepared. To prevent this situation, you and practice perfectly before you go up the stage. Even when an unexpected situation happens, you will be able to deal with it if you prepare perfectly. When I have an important presentation, I ask my friends to give me advice before I give my speech. You could take a video of yourself giving a speech or practice in front of a mirror.

Eyes on You

The biggest factor of stage fright is the thought of eyes staring at you. You don’t want to stare into their eyes but if you don’t it is not the manner of speech. Then this is a solution. You can see the audience in their eyes. Look into the atmosphere but careful not to look at the ceiling or the ground.

Don’t Have a Full Stomach

One symptom of stage fright is a sick belly. If you something before the stage, you might throw up which is probably the thing you want to happen. On the other hand, if you empty, you won’t feel sick during the speaking. In my case, I felt very sick when I had food before the stage and had to stop and go throw up. I hope you don’t experience the same situation.

See the Audience as Your Friend

Don’t think the audience as judges who are out to judge you but your classmates and your friends. That will make it easier for you to give a speech and it will also the audience feel more comfortable while listening.

Destroy Negative Thoughts

It is likely to think about what negative things might happen during your presentation if you are nervous. However, these thoughts are not helpful. If you keep repeating that you will do a bad job, only your anxiety will increase. Instead, try to think of positive situations in your presentation. You might think about the applaud you will get or the proudness you will earn.
